As 2011 winds down, I reflect on the past year and its lessons, and then look forward to the new one, a clean slate. Many people, on New Year make resolutions but they don’t know how to keep them. One sort of resolution has to do only with oneself. They might decide to lose weight, to stop eating candy, to exercise more, or to watch less TV. Other resolutions might involve family or friends. They could resolve to be more patient with their little brother, to be more helpful to their mom, or not to get into fights with friends. Some resolutions are about school and the outside world, such as getting to class on time, trying for better grades. Everyone is just using New Year resolutions as a way to procrastinate, also knowing the pledge they made will probably be short lived. If we want to change something in our lives, it is up to us, and there is no time to waste. Make the commitment to do it now and not later. That later may not ever come about. Life is too short to put off the important things that we know we need to start accomplishing today, because life happens, and we all know what that means.
You don’t need New Year’s resolution for a better year life. It all depends on your attitude, works and beliefs. And also on how you make your year be better. Resolution is just a guide. Me, I don’t have any New Year’s resolution this year, it’s because maybe I wouldn’t keep those. All I just want is to be a good son to my family, be a good friend, be good lover, and also a good son to God. I just gonna try my best to have a better year this time.
