New Year, New Life!!

As 2011 winds down, I reflect on the past year and its lessons, and then look forward to the new one, a clean slate. Many people, on New Year make resolutions but they don’t know how to keep them.  One sort of resolution has to do only with oneself. They might decide to lose weight, to stop eating candy, to exercise more, or to watch less TV. Other resolutions might involve family or friends. They could resolve to be more patient with their little brother, to be more helpful to their mom, or not to get into fights with friends. Some resolutions are about school and the outside world, such as getting to class on time, trying for better grades. Everyone is just using New Year resolutions as a way to procrastinate, also knowing the pledge they made will probably be short lived.   If we want to change something in our lives, it is up to us, and there is no time to waste.   Make the commitment to do it now and not later.   That later may not ever come about.   Life is too short to put off the important things that we know we need to start accomplishing today, because life happens, and we all know what that means.
You don’t need New Year’s resolution for a better year life. It all depends on your attitude, works and beliefs. And also on how you make your year be better. Resolution is just a guide. Me, I don’t have any New Year’s resolution this year, it’s because maybe I wouldn’t keep those. All I just want is to be a good son to my family, be a good friend, be good lover, and also a good son to God. I just gonna try my best to have a better year this time.

"Keeping in Mind Our Mother Tongue"

“Our native language is like a second skin, so much a part of us we resist the idea that it is constantly changing, constantly being renewed”.
Language represents traditions and cultures in a place. Mother tongue is a “blessing in disguise”. It is not merely a time-table subject in his education but is forced upon him from all sides. It is learnt by both the direct or conscious and the indirect or unconscious method. The direct method supplements and regulates the knowledge gained by hearing.  The mother tongue is an indispensable instrument for the development of the intellectual, moral and physical aspects of education.
Keeping in mind our Mother tongue or Mother Language is very important. It serves as the identity of our home place.  It also reminds us about our family, friends and also our childhood life. Mother Language is also a treasure on us, and it has been a tradition to pass it down to generation to generation. I’m very proud of my Mother Language, we must be. And we must not forget it because its a treasure. Keep it in our mind.

What Difference Can I Make???

In today's world, a lot can be said about making a difference. People who believe that they can make a difference are the people who shape our society today. Those individuals have helped us in bettering the world we have today.
Our planet is indeed gasping for breath right now, our harmful pollutions is indeed choking her slowly and continues to strip her with her ozone layer. I think it is about time to give our timely response to this alarming state of the only planet we live in, by doing our own share of protecting her with doing simple things that will surely stir big difference. For if not, we might be harming ourselves in the years ahead as well, for nature has its own destructive way of getting back at us humans, the signs of earth's displeasure with inappropriate and harmful activities of humans are now seen and felt all across the globe like the global warming, climate change, flash floods and other forms of natural catastrophes.
Being as a student and kid, I can make a difference to the health of our Mother Earth by doing simple things just like; not to burn plastics, do not dump garbage in bodies of water and land, minimize the use of some appliances, plant trees and also Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.  We must save our Mother Earth for our own good.

Essence of Christmas

What is Christmas for you? What do we celebrate on Christmas? And what is the true essence of Christmas?
For me Christmas is the day when Jesus Christ was born. We celebrate it every December 25th. We always have a lot of foods in our table the night before Christmas, that’s how we always celebrate Noche Buena. Did you know the song “Give love on Christmas Day?” This song speaks about the giving of love to everyone on Christmas as we give love to Jesus Christ. It is not how many foods we prepare just to celebrate the birthday of Jesus Christ but on how to show and give love to everyone. We give love, hope happiness and care; and also we forgive those who have sinned against us because Christmas is also the time to forgive. And by showing love to others, we help people who are in need. Sharing our blessings to other is also the real meaning of Christmas. So we must give love on Christmas day.(^_^)

"Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities"

“Gender equality is more than a goal in itself. It is a precondition for meeting the challenge of reducing poverty, promoting sustainable development and building good governance. “
                                                                                                -Kofi Annan
It has been a cultural belief of many regions that women exist to be housewives and mothers. These beliefs give women limited roles. They are considered under to men in terms of intellect, this has underestimated women's talents leaving them with a “label of inferiority.”  Women are hard-working, responsible, intelligent, and, above all, they think twice before taking a decision. They must have rights to have a free life just like men, not making them housewives nor mother.  A lot of people, when they think of a farmer, usually think of a man. But in fact, women farmers play a huge role in farming. In our country, women do the sowing, weeding, and also harvesting of the plants. Some women also are the one who also play as the father of the family at the same time mother. They are the one who work hard to feed their family. Women and men must have equal rights. So that women must not be treated as slaves and men must not be the superiors because women are special, and man can’t live also without women.

"Take Action Now, Before Its Too Late"

The issue of climate change is one that we ignore at our own peril. There may still be disputes about exactly how much we're contributing to the warming of the earth's atmosphere and how much is naturally occurring, but what we can be scientifically certain of is that our continued use of fossil fuels is pushing us to a point of no return. And unless we free ourselves from a dependence on these fossil fuels and chart a new course on energy in this country, we are condemning future generations to global catastrophe.”                                                                                                            -Barack Obama
Today we are now experiencing the so called climate change due to many reasons. Climate change is a change in the statistical properties of the climate system when considered over long periods of time, regardless of cause. The main common problem is air pollution. Air pollution is caused by burning of plastics, maximum use of air conditions, vehicles, and some factories. This contributes a large and very dirty air that may lead to the distinction of fresh air. Lack of trees is also a cause of this phenomenon. Cause trees help decrease the amount of carbon dioxide that humans and animals give off. Trees contribute a lot of help to stop this phenomenon, so we must plant trees.
So we must prevent this kind of phenomenon, take action now before its too late. Let’s make our world safe and clean for a better future.
